Christmas

Podcast                                                                           YouTube

First off lets list the reasons people say we should not celebrate Christmas:

   1. Jesus wasn't born on the 25th of December.
   2. Driven by Commercialism.
   3. Not mentioned in the Bible nor told to observe it.
   4. Originated by pagan customs.

Now lets look at what CHRISTMAS is:

   1. Celebrating the Birth of Jesus Christ.

 That's it. NOTHING MORE.

Now lets look at what Christmas is NOT:

   1. Shopping / Buying presents
   2. Decorating (Tree, House inside or outside)
   3. Santa and everything that goes with that.

Once again, to emphasize what is important here, i will mention again what Christmas IS:

   1. Celebrating the Birth of Jesus Christ.

Now pay attention, Most people in this Last Day's generation say they don't celebrate Christmas. Which is saying "I don't celebrate the Birth of Jesus Christ" And then give the reasons why they don't celebrate the Birth of Christ based solely on what Christmas is NOT.

Now lets look at those reasons people use to NOT celebrate Christmas:

# 1 Jesus Was Not Born On the 25th Of December

So we should not celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, because we don't know when His Birthday actually is. Does anyone else see how ridiculous that is? What, every person in the world can celebrate their Birthday as long as they know what their birth date is. Really? So a person finds a child left by a mother at the Church doors, and that child is to never celebrate their birthday, EVER? No clue on what date that child was actually born. Isn't that child's birth date then estimated? That child gets a Birth date made even though that child's actual Birth date is not known.

Jesus actual Birth date is UNKNOWN as well. What? Should not celebrate His Birth date because we don't know the actual date He was born. Using this as an excuse to NOT celebrate Christmas, is, well pathetic.

And then there are those who say "Jesus Birthday is probably not in the winter, because shepherds are not out in the field in the winter" Really? Where do you live Antarctica? What, you have never experienced a warm week in the middle of winter? If there is a warm week in the middle of winter around Bethlehem, would the shepherds take advantage of this warm weather and be out in the fields? So is it not possible that sometime in the middle of December they could have had a warm spell, and the shepherds were out in the field?

Here's a Nicolaitan speaking "I don't celebrate the Birth of my Lord and Savior, because I don't know the exact date He was born. Therefore I don't celebrate the Birth of Jesus Christ, no more"

PATHETIC.

#2 Driven by Commercialism

And whose fault is that? Christmas is about celebrating the Birth of Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord. What does that have to do with shopping and buying presents? If Christmas is Commercialized, whose fault is that, but the very people who USE Christmas as a means to sell more of their products. So these businesses offer sales, and promotions, and call it Black Friday and other such things they do, to get you, to SHOP. Who's fault is it but your own, if you Fall into that hype?

Sure Christmas is going to be hectic, stressful, and what have you, because YOU CHOOSE to make it so if you fall into that Commercialism scheme. Then you end up not liking Christmas because it is to hectic and stressful, which YOU are the one making it that way.

Nicolaitans say "We don't celebrate Christmas because it has become way to Commercialized." Using that same logic a person can say "I don't celebrate my kids Birthday, because they eat to much cake, and get sick. So we don't do Birthdays in our house any more"

You can celebrate Christmas without buying one present for anyone. What is Christmas? The celebrating of Jesus being born. Who said that it HAS to be about getting gifts for people?

Please don't get me wrong. It is written if you give to others you give to Jesus. So i am not saying giving gifts is evil or wrong. If that is what you like to do, then by all means give gifts to others, because in doing so you give gifts to Jesus on His Birthday. But giving gift to people is NOT the ONLY way to give to Jesus to celebrate His Birthday.

The following is a list you can do to celebrate Jesus Birthday

  • Read the Bible (more than what you normally read every day)
  • Have a Bible Study
  • Make it a tradition to watch a Jesus Movie every Year.
  • Fasting (go without eating food for a time, to show Jesus how much you love Him).
  • Help someone in need.
  • Volunteer to help somewhere, like a homeless shelter.
  • Give blankets to the Homeless in nearby city.
  • Donate clothes.
  • Donate money to a charity.
  • Donate Blood.
  • Visit a Nursing Home, even if you don't know anyone.
  • Visit your parents.
  • Reconcile with family or friends.
  • Make Dinner for your neighbor.
  • Buy gifts for people. (If this is too stressful for you, DON'T DO IT)
  • A million other things you could do to celebrate the Birth of Jesus Christ.

If you stop celebrating Christmas because it is too commercialized, then Shame on you. YOU are the one who made it that way.

Nicolaitan saying "I don't celebrate the birth of my Lord and Savior Jesus, because Christmas is just too commercialized, and I don't want nothing to do with it." is simply pathetic, Because Christmas does not have to be about Gift giving, YOU have made it about that.

#3 Not mentioned in the Bible, nor told to observe it.

It is True, the word Christmas is NOT mentioned in the Bible. However we do have the birth of Jesus Christ being celebrated.

The Angels of God revealed to some Shepherd that the Lord Jesus is being born, and then the Shepherd went to celebrate His birth.

  • Luk 2:8-15  And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.   And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.  For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.  And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,  Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.

So according to the Holy inspired by God Scriptures, the Angels of Heaven celebrated on the Day Jesus Christ was born. Were they wrong to do so? Really? So the Angels of Heaven celebrated the Birth of Jesus Christ, but humans are NOT suppose to. Wow, talk about dumbness.

So the Shepherds too, went to see AND CELEBRATE Jesus Christ being born, as the Scriptures plainly teach they did.

Then you have the wise men coming to the party too:

  • Mat 2:1-11  Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him. When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born. And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet, And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel. Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, enquired of them diligently what time the star appeared. And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also. When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was. When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy. And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.

So Wise men, which could have been way more than 3, it is only an assumption, a guess, an opinion, that it was only three wise men. Traveled across the country to visit and celebrate the Birth of Jesus Christ, OH, and they brought GIFTS. Did you hear what i said? To Celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, WISE men brought GIFTS to Jesus.

So, YES you are correct, the Bible does not instruct Christians to celebrate the Birth of Jesus Christ. But the Angels of Heaven did, according to Scriptures, The Shepherds celebrated His Birth according to Scriptures, and the Wise men came to Jesus giving Him Presents, ALL according to Scriptures. So who are YOU, to say we should not celebrate His Birth too?

If YOU do not want to celebrate the Birth of Jesus Christ because we are not instructed to do so. So be it, no sin there. But woe to any person who tries to tell others they SHOULD NOT celebrate Christmas, these shall not escape the wrath of God when it comes upon the whole Earth. For the Angels of Heaven celebrated His Birth, the Shepherds celebrated His Birth, and a whole bunch of Wise Men, celebrated His Birth. Woe to those who teach others NOT to.

#4 Originated by pagan customs.

Nicolaitans say "You should not celebrate Christmas because it was originated by pagan customs, paganism".

The Bible mentions how the gentiles would decorate Trees.

  • Jer 10:1-5  Hear ye the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel: Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.  They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.

i think those who use the above verses to teach others that we should not have Christmas Trees are the biggest Hypocrites. Do they not say we should not have Christmas Trees because the Pagans decorated Trees? Well the Pagans also danced, is it wrong to dance because the Pagans did it? Pagans also sang music, is it wrong to sing because pagans did that too? Did the Pagans eat off of plates, What then, it is evil to eat off plates because the Pagans did that too? Does anyone else see the stupidity in this kind of logic?

Just because the Pagans did this or that, does not mean we do it for the same reasons they did. That's just plain dumb to think that. The Pagans decorated IDOLS, made from Trees and worshiped them. And even if Pagans decorated a TREE and worshiped that Tree, does not mean that is why we decorate a Christmas Tree.

And lets talk about the REASON Christmas was started. Are you ready for it?

I DON'T CARE.

Do you really think i celebrate Christmas because of the reasons humans started Christmas? i celebrate Christmas, to celebrate the Birth of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. And it has absolutely NOTHING to do with the reason people started the holiday of Christmas to begin with. What is it to me, if humans decided to create a holiday and call it Christmas during the winter solstice? NOTHING. What is it to me if they decided to start the Holiday Christmas to make a profit off of it? NOTHING. What is it to me, if they decided to create Christmas for evil wicked reasons? Absolutely NOTHING. Do i celebrate Christmas because of the reasons they created it for? NO. Should i stop celebrating the Birth of Jesus Christ because of the origins of the Holiday, Absolutely NOT. i celebrate Christmas to celebrate the Birth of Jesus Christ, NO OTHER REASON needed. Woe to any person who says or teaches that i should NOT celebrate the Birth of Jesus Christ then tries to give me a pathetic reason for not doing so.

Do you want the TRUTH of the matter? Those who LOVE to Give, who are charitable, who are unselfish, Love Christmas. Do you know why? Because it is yet another opportunity to GIVE to others. Do you know who don't like to celebrate Christmas? Those who DON'T like to give, those who are selfish, and will look for any reason they can, to NOT GIVE. pathetic

And it's easy to prove this, i have many times. Any person who is telling you that we should not celebrate Christmas, look at their lives, are they a Giving person, or a person who does NOT Give to others freely. i have seen first hand, those who love to Give, love Christmas, those who are Selfish, will come up with every reason they can find, NOT to celebrate Christmas.

And i am NOT saying a person MUST celebrate Christmas, i am not saying or teaching that at all. If a person does not want to celebrate Christmas, they do not commit any sin. There is nothing in all of Scriptures that teaches we MUST, Should, or Have to, celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Therefore if you choose to NOT celebrate it, you do not commit any sin.

However, what is wrong and very sinful, is for any person to try to tell another person they Shouldn't celebrate Christmas. The Scriptures does NOT condemn the celebration of Christmas now does it? That answer is NO it does not. If i choose to celebrate, and randomly pick a date in the calendar, to celebrate Jesus turning water into wine, Who are YOU to tell me that i should not do so? Who made you a judge of such matters? If i choose to pick a day in the year to celebrate Jesus walking on water, Who are you to say that i should not do so? Who made you a judge of such matters? If i choose to pick Dec 25th to celebrate the Birth of Jesus Christ as a human on Earth, Who are you to say i should not do so? Who made you a judge on such matters?

If a person wants to celebrate Christmas, then so be it. If a person chooses to NOT celebrate Christmas, then so be it, but Woe to that person who is teaching others they should NOT do so, they will not escape the wrath of God when it come upon the whole Earth.

Know you not that it is the Holy Ghost that convicts us, that which is sinful or not. If then the Holy Ghost is convicting YOU, to not celebrate Christmas, then for you to do so, would become sinful, because the Holy Ghost is convicting you to not do so. But just because the Holy Ghost convicts you to not celebrate it, does NOT mean other should not celebrate it either. Therefore if you feel like it is wrong to celebrate Christmas, then don't do it, but just because it is wrong for YOU, does not mean you have the right to try to tell others it is NOT right for them to celebrate Christmas. As i said above, if you want to celebrate Christmas, so be it. If you don't want to celebrate Christmas, so be it, But woe to that person who tries to teach others that they shouldn't celebrate Christmas, that person is not a judge on such matters and will not escape the wrath of God.

  • Rom 14:5-6  One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.

So then, if i esteem December 25th as a Day that i will celebrate the Birth of Jesus Christ, who are YOU to say that i should not do so? Who made you a judge on this matter? i esteem Dec 25th unto the Lord, to celebrate His Birth into the World. Woe to any person who says, i am wrong to do so, that person will not escape the Wrath of God when it comes upon the whole Earth.
